Day 2

Drove 375 miles to Kanopolis State Park in Kansas, 33 miles SW of Salina.

Started off cool after a very hot day yesterday because a cold front came through overnight, but still got up into the 90's afternoon.  Forecast is in the 100's for tomorrow!

This state park is basically a "once was" (maybe), but not very impressive to us.  Then again, it's too hot to really check it out.  Campground locations are not well marked and had trouble finding a spot for the night.  But we finally found a shaded site with electricity and got the A/C going immediately.  It's now 7:00pm and 95 out so no plans to do much here the rest of the day outside.

Tomorrow (early) we will head for the mountains of Colorado and cooler temps.

Pictures of this area are not worth posting.

On the  positive side, gas prices have been in the $3.29 - $3.59 area and nothing has stopped working or gone bad with our equipment.

The best is soon to come.

More tomorrow!

Day 1

We pulled out of the drive at 10:00am - right on time without any problems.
Long, hot, but easy, drive to Lazy Day Campground outside of Montgomery City, Missouri.
Our goal was a State Park nearby, but they only had 18 sites with electricity.  The temp was 100 and we had to have electricity, so we just stopped at the RV park for the night to be safe.

Very nice and clean and we took our "cocktails" to the pool and did a few laps.  Extremely refreshing after the hot day of driving.

On to Kansas on Thursday.
