Day 17

Finally, here is the completed update of pictures from Great Basin National Park.  We had them all edited, and posted once then accidentally deleted the entire thing.

Right now we are in Truckee, CA camping at an RV park.  Cell service, internet connection, and Crown Royal.  Life is Good!  Got a lot of "stuff" done today (including this blog post) and everything is ready for Yosemite on Sunday.  Now we can drive around Truckee and Lake Tahoe tomorrow - a full day's trip.

Our campsite on Lehman Creek; one of only 11 campsites in this campground

Our back yard

On the way to trailhead to hike the Alpine Lakes Trail

A young buck on the trail

Lookin' cool!

Dad thinkin' he looks cool!

Onto the second Alpine lake with lots of flowers and lush greenery along the creek beds

Back at camp after our hike drinking Margaritas and acting goofy!

Isabelle chillin' out after dinner

Road sign heading up to hike the Glacier Trail, the only glacier left in Nevada

Much of this trail was very rocky and unsteady: remnants of the last ice age glacial activity
Bristlecone Pine tree. One of the oldest living things in the world (see below)

We made it to the end of the trail at over 11,000 feet! Yay!

Home at last!
