Day 8

Following are the last day's pictures from Great Sand Dunes as promised.  We took a short hike (but had to drive 5 miles up a gravel road to get to the trail head) to a waterfall.  Isabelle got to go on this trip and got to get her feet wet in the stream (so did Ellen).
So a 1/2 mile hike up to the water and then a short walk through the stream bed to get to the falls.
On the way back we attempted another off-road trail in the car but could only get a little way before we were warned to not continue.  We really need a Jeep!
Finally, I went on a short "nature trail" walk by the Visitor Center to get a few last pictures of the Dunes as the light was fading.  The Dunes look different each hour of the day with morning and evening shadows being best.  So, a little overkill on Dunes pictures but hope you enjoy them.

Later this morning we are going into Mesa Verde to see what it has to offer and will post results and pictures tonight or in the morning.
